tableHELEN NOCK's process draws on mosaic method. She likes to experiment with new techniques to position and unify a variety of diverse yet harmonious materials, many of which are found and reclaimed, including slate, glass, bone, metal and objects trouvé. Helen loves the unique facets and textures created by time and weather. The effects of light in and on glass are a constant fascination. She likes to work spontaneously, allowing changes as the work evolves: expressing thoughts and feelings evoked between her ideas and the materials she is drawn to. She is influenced by ancient artefacts, intuitive art processes and slower making technologies, resulting in raw and often understated surfaces with a timeless quality.
